BarnArts produced the play, That includes performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and a children’s production of Shrek this summer.

Shrek and his new friend Donkey, performed by Asa Dupras of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., travel to Fiona’s prison and rescue her from a fire-breathing dragon. Chandler veteran Emily Ballou appears as the dragon and also acts as dance captain for the production.

During the 3-week camp, youth will take on characters, learn songs and dancing, and prepare for the full-scale production to be held at the Barnard Town Hall with original staging, costuming, choreography and a live band! MadBarn Productions is the theater portion of The Barn. Everything that we do that is theater related is done under the MadBarn Productions moniker. Some of the Productions we have done in the past include: The Wizard of Oz, Elf Jr, Beauty & the Beast, Jr, Into the Woods, Jr., Shrek, The Musical Jr, as well as, numerous murder mysteries. KAT Second Stage’s production of “Shrek the Musical JR.” will bring the “big bright beautiful world” of the 2001 DreamWorks Animation movie and the 2008 Broadway musical to the Arts Barn stage May 10 through 19.
